Tasmanian Devil.

On the sand, in the dry desert
Looking around waiting for prey
The sun beats down on the devil
Red hot dust from the sand fills its nostrils.
Almost bearlike, cute, but aggressive
Population dropping rapidly
They exist in only one state in the world
Disease and hunters ending their lives
Armageddon-like.
For as small as it is, its bite doesn’t compare to anything else
It aerates soil, gardens and eats pests galore
It prowls about day and night.
When in Tasmania just beware
The bushes around could contain the little bear.
