Tassie devil

A smell of fresh meat lingers in the air. I scatter the moist,
soft dirt, rummaging through it and finally, I can hear the
footsteps. Thump, thump, thump my prey scatters around
the dirt hidden beneath layers and layers of dirt.
My sharp claws pierce through its skin, quivering with fright.
My mouth is mesmerised at the sight of my juicy feast.
My jaw opens, and shuts close, clenching the meat my teeth.
Chew the flavourful meat, have I ever tasted something like
this? The answer is no, it’s too good.
Why can’t we stop biting our friends and family?
I don’t wanna be affected by Devil's Tumour Disease.
We can just stop biting, can’t we?
