That’s the Real Truth

The rabbit speaks as it teaches while the lies leak,
Only I know the truth must be told,
As the children relive the false.
The room starts to fill,
As I remember the cruel, sad life
The land and the people went through.
Hand swelling, back cracking,
That’s the real truth,
Don’t take note of the misleading words the rabbit spoke.
My mouth can’t keep sealed
As the words go through the children’s ears.
The kids freeze as they all stare, puzzled, at me.
The children laugh as the rumours start,
The rabbit said stop.
