Hand to hand it travelled
It saw many battles
A memory of the past
Resurfaced at last

Forged 1923
Canadian currency
Not knowing how important it would be
To those in 2016

I carry it around preciously
This little piece of history
Normally meant to be spent
But here it is the subject of this poem, this 25 cents
