Another sleepless night,
Sweating, thinking,
It is my destiny,
My future,
My mistake…

I wake and glance up,
Then I see my hat,
My baggy hat,
The baggy hat,
A wave of emotion rushes over me,
Though I remember what I have to do today,
And the wave recedes back,

I feel goose bumps upon goose bumps on my arms,
My legs, my whole body,
I’m as tense as a seagull when he sees a chip,
Though I am not doing it for survival,
Though maybe I am,

I glance up yet again,
And I see my hat,
My baggy hat,
The baggy hat,

I am nervous,
And I may be scared,
But I remember my roots,
The countless hours of training,
Blood,
Sweat,
Tears,
Failure upon failure,
All for this.
