The Beast

The beast devoured
The beast raged
The animals pleased
The animals cried
The animals ran
Away from the mouth of the demon
That could never be full
The others were too slow
And became fuel for the flames
My tail stung
The beast had caught me
I was too small and too fragile to escape
I was tired, injured and heartbroken that everyone was gone
And so I stopped and surrendered to the beast.
