Peering through the sage green bush,

Up at the twilight sky

Watching, waiting, hoping

Stars glisten and gleam in the darkening sky

Wind leaps through the opaque leaves

Throwing them wherever it wants

The moon giving off the only light

Owls whoo whooing, in time with my heartbeat

Suddenly, a flash of golden white streaks through the sky

I watch it sail by, leaving a glistening trail in its wake

And then it's gone like a wave

Never to be seen again
