The Big Bushfire

The wind whistles through the dry leaves of the old gum tree. Awaiting nearby is a fire as hot as the sun burning through the nearby shrubs.
Birds squawk, ‘roos jump and wombats burrow deep into the ground, all trying to flee the flames.
The wind blowing isn’t helping the animals. Unfortunately, the fire is still growing.
The snakes start swiftly slithering away from the ferocious flames. The ‘roos start to dance, as though it was meant to be.
The rain came flooding down.
The water is making the fire die.
The wombats come out of the burrows, birds start squawking again.
The ‘roos stop dancing and begin jumping with joy.
The forest is now in peace.
The dry season is officially over, everyone shouts hooray! The rain's been off on a holiday. It has arrived again here today.
