She flies solo among the mountains looking for a place to lay her egg

She flies along the mountain range looking for a place that will keep her egg safe

In the swamp gum she thinks, it has nuts and berries, my favourite food

So she flies lower and descends into the tree,

The egg then starts to crack

She steps to the side and lets the sun shine bright on her newly hatched baby

The banksias and wattles shine and grow, the colors of her wings shine bright

She is the light of the whole world while she tends to her lovely baby

Feeding it with all of the fresh berries and nuts

She carefully nurtures the child and teaches her how to fly

She shows her how to gather food and also how to pry for lizards

And now when the baby is ready

She flies away and starts it all over again
