As she dawdled about in the fields of yellow.
Full of joy like a vivid rainbow, she watched the bird laugh.
She cried hello.
She gives the bird a shake,
And laughs until her belly aches.
The only other sound's the break,
Of distant waves and birds awake.
The bird is azure blue, swift and deep,
And she wonders if it’s hers to keep.
As she goes to bed,
Thoughts dance across her head
In the morning,
She wakes up yawning,
And skips away to see the bird.
Shocked to know that it was gone,
She quickly withdrawn,
And saw the bird in a cage.
She zoomed towards the bird in a rage,
And unlocked the bird gate.
The bird flew off at a speeding rate.
