The Body

One of the most vulnerable parts to social life
The one part of your life that could ruin you
The part of your life you pay most attention to
When you're at school or out in public
Is it really worth the pain
Is it really worth the suffering
Is it really worth the popularity
NO
You don't have to be pretty
You don't have to be skinny
Just for people to accept you for who you are
Because if you don't it leaves a nasty scar
Did you know?
1 in 4 people in Australia have serious body concerns
But what you don't know is inside of the body burns
The media is the biggest of all
It will suck you in and spit you out small
On the media you just have to look good
Even though you can't even accept yourself for who you are
It's the morning I'm up
I look at myself in the mirror
I tell myself I’m fine but I don't believe myself
I layer on the makeup like water washing away my real self
I leave without breakfast
Even though I’m hungry I leave
Without my breakfast I can't concentrate in class
At lunch I eat an apple
I tell myself I can
But I regret it
I get home after a painful day
I fall on my bed grey
