The Book of Rules

The red fire blossoms from the west
fading behind the mountains
like eggs hatching in a nest
like leaves fluttering in the trees
her hair moves as she sits
her hands hold the rules, the book
a great book from ancient times
recited everyday across the world
tasting the sweet sorrows of its history
words of wisdom and mystery
soft as silk and rough as a wall
Whispered and worshipped until she hears the call
Emotions... a ravaging beast
calmed by the words of the book
her depression allaying
Author's Note: I wrote about the Koran because I have started to study it and it is very special to me.
