On the thin, slippery path,
Wintercress flowers blowing gently in cool breeze.
Deeper in the bush, I brush my hand against frosty, icy ferns even with their cold appearance, the ferns are soft to touch, as warm as summer sand.

Advancing through the bush, path steepening,
everything glimmering with elegance and grace.
Hear trickling water ahead.
Waterfall plummeting into the swift icy river,
fast paced but soothing and peaceful.

Few steps more, small gatherings of eucalyptus trees,
one holding a small family of koalas, that tree, their home.
A precious family, a petite joey,
koalas care free and happy, just like a kid at Disneyland.

Down the mountain passing the rushing waterfall.
Further, I brush my hand against frosty ferns,
they’re soft and delicate, as before.
Reaching the lowest point of the great mountain,
 passing the flowers, admiring them.

So, care for all species so they too can have a home like you and me.
