The Change

Leaves rustle under my feet
As I walk across the forest floor.
Birds singing their mating calls,
Lizards scurrying up trees,
Foxes ambling towards their prey,
The forest is alive.
Now the forest lies in its tomb,
Hardly alive, it starts to perish,
It is no longer the forest it was before,
All the trees, vanished
All the animals, poached
Anything that is still alive is in danger.
All because of one thing,
Us, greedy, selfish humans
Taking more than we need,
Never returning anything to the land,
Never caring about the land
We are the villians.
