As the sun rises over Dharawal land,

Dew hits the ground where the gum tree stands.

The breeze grows strong, his branches move,

The forest starts to find her groove.

The flowers turn to face the sun,

The leaves crunch as the bilbies run.

A hungry wallaby nibbles nuts and berries,

As the bats and possums sleep with full bellies.

With the quiet stirs of the freshwater stream,

The owl settles in for a peaceful dream.

The platypus swims in the river which is shallow,

And finds a place to dig his burrow.

A falcon soars above the trees,

While sweet nectar is crafted by honey bees.

The kookaburra laughs as the magpie swoops,

The ants stand their ground, in troubleless troops.

The snake slithers swiftly and darts at its pray,

The terrified mouse has lived its last day.

When dusk fills the sky, the flowers weep,

The forest bows, and the gum tree sleeps.
