The howls reverberate across the midnight sky
The children scream and begin to cry
It's an angry spirit! We're all going to perish
The mothers are heard. Don't worry my dear, my darling precious

The beasts lay low in the grass
Ready to pounce on creatures that pass
The rodents scurry
The Tasmanian Devil jerks in a hurry

The creature howls up at the moon
A mouse in its paws to be eaten soon
The marsupial shrinks and runs back to its cave
The mouse tries to run feeling rather brave.

The brute lays low and begins to sleep
Whilst daytime creatures begin to creep
Snoozing and resting in its den
Whilst others of its kind lay in a sanctuary pen
Morning has come.
