An elder tree

Throwing magical branches

For all to see.

Netted beneath the soil

No clear path through

A sturdy foundation for the network above

My rock-hard trunk standing strong full of love.

Holding all life like god's hand, supporting all species during their lives

Acting as a roof, keeping others safe,

Comforting life deep within.

Scampering: swiftly, silently, seamlessly

Flowing from branch to branch

Monkeys, mammals, birds, leaping through the ferns.

My trunk will open as it gets colder, sheltering more life as I get older,

Rain, hail, wind or shine

All life forms come and combine.

Thinking back, I notice that more often than not

The world that acts as a safe surround will slowly change while I stand my ground.

Learn to stand alone. By yourself you must be home.

Be there for anyone and anything, and to life you must always cling.
