The Fae Star

It has been there for me for many years
For good luck and decoration
Given to me by an old friend
Pink and purple it sparkles in the sunlight
Good luck from the faeries
I believed it kept me safe
From the dangers of their world
Like goblins and hedge witches
And the brownies and pixies
I saw creeping through the night
At the tender age of five
And now I'm all grown up
But still I keep it safe
In a drawer of my desk
I check it every day
Once a month I hold it to the moon beam
The rhinestones glinting as I reminisce about my childish beliefs
Of the faerie realm, the pixies and the brownies
Then I stow it away until the next full moon
