For a thousand years I’ve stood here,

For a million moments I’ve seen,

Year after year after year,

My life like an endless dream.

Sitting tall and grand,

Watching the world go by,

A silent guardian of the land

As tall as the sapphire sky.

I see all, I know all,

I’ve heard the whispers of the wind,

I’ve seen the sparkling waterfall,

And the sun when it has dimmed.

But that was all before it changed,

Nature’s beautiful, torturous ways,

Before the searing, burning flames,

Ending my placid and peaceful days.

See? Now here I am,

A hollowed-out husk,

Burnt black but calm.

This is the fall of the King.
