Lightning is a fear of many,
The harshness of the line stops time.
It’s like a flame cutting through the sky,
Waiting to find its next tree to set on fire.
It branches out across the sky,
Like a spider web in-between two trees.

The family of three,
With a dog still waiting for its feed, sit and watch the light.
The dog isn’t bothered,
It’s sleeping like a baby.
The young girl is holding her phone like there’s no tomorrow,
She is scared as can be.

Moments later she snaps a picture,
It was perfectly timed.
As she goes and edits it to make it more defined,
It looks like the hill opposite her is about to get set on fire, like a dragon warning its prey.
She is shocked at the sight,
Her breath tight.

The thunder roars like a lion,
The lightning strikes again, a different tree this time.
The magnificent thunderstorm turns into soft rain,
It starts to trickle down the window where the family sits safely inside.
