Asleep I lunge from a great height and traverse the world in air currents.

I fall from the sky and dig in the dirt, only then do I emerge, awaken from a soft slumber.

A sweet scent is carried throughout the air and the moist dirt is packed with nutrients.

I lay down slowly spreading my limbs as a ray of sunshine peaks through the dense overhead.

Over time, the rays get hotter and days get long, the rays give strength.

The air starts to get dry and the plants are crisp, water is scarce.

The rays slowly retract, the atmosphere gets colder, trees fret and change their skins.

I shiver unknowing of the upcoming seasons as dark clouds form above me.

I enter into a new era as the sky is surrounded by darkness, chilled air blows across the trees.

I have no energy and hope for the best, snow forms and my trunk almost freezes.

Then the seasons get brighter and it is the perfect temperature, I keep growing above the rest.

My trunk grows thick and my roots spread wide, my leaves expand and it is time for the process to repeat.
