The Forest

The overlapping meadows of bark went on for miles,
The scent of fresh fern drifted through the branches awakening the restful atmosphere.
The feeling of overgrown grass slipping through my fingertips, elegant and reminiscent.
The croaking frogs echoed against the rapid water stream shaking the silent ground,
The green, slippery moss flooded the tree barks and soggy soil.
Flowing waterfalls against the cold, silent river felt like it would never end.
But what about when this forest is gone?
The trees that travel on miles are being destroyed like they were nothing.
The scent of spring beauty is being drowned out by tractor fuels.
The harmonious hum from nature can no longer be heard,
Charming, rich colours of the environment have turned dull and drained.
No more peacefulness, only destruction to our land.
What about the forest?
Humans believe clearing the land for construction and manufacturing will help.
But where will our oxygen be?
Where will our animals live?
What about the forest?
