Their roots stretch down,

down to the ground,

while their trunks stretch up

and invite birds much.

The birds peck from their leaves

and collect seeds for their needs.

As I take a stroll to a nearby meadow

the water's sparkly, clean and shallow.

I look back as I see

a flock of ducks swooping, soaring and

making quacks as they waddle on

the forest floor, their mums

teach them how to walk.

I always think of forests and trees as

I

fall

asleep.
