The crunch of a footstep that scares away our animals,

Echoing throughout our empty trees,

Rippling the surface of our silent lakes,

They took what was ours.

The calm environment we used to live in,

The infinite possibilities of life,

The sky that we slept under as a community,

The path that we took wasn’t right.

A star in the sky that we couldn’t see,

The one that could light our way,

We may have asked the smallest flower,

But we didn’t give it a say.

The field of flowers,

The aching trees,

Changes need to be made in this world,

Too many just for one.

Not everyone knows what has to be done,

We need to spread the word,

The animals, trees, lakes and us,

Will be home again.
