I walk down the forest trail,

Mud squelching between my toes,

The wind is blowing a gale,

What is in front, nobody knows.

I watch the slowly setting sun,

And crickets start to sing,

So for now the day is done,

But I continue walking.

My fatigue, it does grasp me,

Yet, I keep stumbling on,

Forest green, all I can see,

Except for the gleaming sun.

I walk down the forest trail,

Mud squelching between my toes,

The wind is blowing a gale,

What is in front, nobody knows.
