Look deep into the coral reef and you will find

The beautiful green hawksbill sea turtles

Swimming and gracefully gliding through The Great Barrier Reef

With the green seaweed and sea creatures around me.

They tell me stories about how they cant find a home

When they go to search for food to feed their babies

But the fishing nets capture me, my nests and my babies we are stranded

Out in the sea we can’t see anything with the plastic covering my eyes,

The plastic is now becoming their new home.

The laced acid building up into my muscles

Feeling the burn and anger as I try

To swim to the surface

But I can't all the plastic holds me down

And stop me from getting to my babies.

With the coral flaking off from pollution,

With the blues and greens now changing to browns and yellows with their habitats slowly dying

And becoming dead

The threatened species of the green hawksbill sea turtle.
