The Gum Tree

White, long crooked branches with grey bruises on their bodies.
Tons of dark and light green leaves glued on really tight to the branches.
The thin green leaves seen from far away,
looking like tiny green bananas hanging off the trees, gratefully.
Colourful rosellas delightfully glide towards the gum trees, hungrily looking for the juicy gum-nuts,
going squawk, squawk around the trees.
Thick, thin, small, large twigs falling,
group by group like ripe heavy fruit falling down, tumbling
onto the weeds.
My favourite gum tree.
