The Hollows

The trees stand still in the absent breeze, creatures lurk in the darkness of their small holes.
The rivers gush and the horizon is dying, while the sun slowly lurks downwards to a new day.
As the bright moon starts to glow, the owls come out of hiding, to find their nightly snack.
The moon starts to fade away into the darkness and the animals slowly creep outside.
They begin crawling through the leaves, the rich smell of the forest fills the air.
Everything starts to shoot out from its hollow to search for an unfulfilled dream.
The sound of the bristling of the smooth leaves travels through the forest.
But when something makes a loud BANG! Animals scatter like little cockroaches.
To find their little hiding holes to take cover from the devious hunter.
Soon everything is quiet and the animals come back out, to see if it is safe.
But the only thing they can hear is the sound of the ghastly breeze going through the trees.
All animals know it's time to get what they need and head back home.
The rivers continue to gush for another day, but soon it will run dry and all will fade away.
The horizon is once again beginning to die, but all the creatures of the hollows know that it’ll once again return…
