The Koala's View

The Koala sits on a tree,
his eyesight is limited and he's trying to see,
The Bynoe’s Gecko eating a pea,
while the red kangaroo eats the grass and the leaves.
Nomming and chomping,
out comes a king fisher ready to catch,
while a farmer goes to harvest his veggie patch,
and a small-eyed snake sneaks up on a rat,
licking its lips as it’s about to pounce.
This is Australia,
a very dangerous place, but it can be calming,
with its beauty and its grace.
Yet again, the Koala tries to see,
looking at this wonderful world,
and saying there’s no better place I could be!
