The land of war

The land was bare

The trees were rare

The officers hid in the trench

They had just been reinforced by the French

The soldiers have been fighting for days

They had a sad and disappointed gaze

The grass was not green anymore

As they had now been fighting for months or more

All that was here was dirt, and only dirt

But some soldiers were unhurt

It becomes years and the land is not getting better

Some soldiers get a letter

The whole war is because of people wanting land

but they should be giving each other a helping hand
