The land that was once ours

The trees that are like skyscrapers
begin to lose their leaves
The rain pours down in buckets.
What once was dirt is now mud
The place we call home
Tracking through the forest
Feels like it is never ending
The sky bluer than the ocean
The land wider than the galaxy
The place we call home
The ocean that goes on for an eternity
The sand hot like lava
The little craps scuttering around
Like their feet are on fire
The place we call our home
We look around
At the once perfect land
Now filled with buildings and roads
It was once ours but now it's theirs
It is no longer the place we call home.
