There it was a big red tree
Standing with others, in the wind it was free
For hundreds and thousands, it stayed afloat
Like a small rowboat
Like leaves on water, providing a home
For insects and bugs that lived alone
but as per our selfish desire, we began to slaughter
and in a just blink of an eye, there was left a quarter

and then there was one
a lonely tree that had no one
being filled with smoke it began to choke
its leaves all fell, as winter had come
it was a challenge it could no longer overcome
who once stood high
had finally said goodbye
