A fuzz-filled soul

With a heart so free

Sitting high up on rocks

Just away from me

A kangaroo’s body

And its ears pinned tall

A stubby little tail

So it will not fall

Adorable buggers

Eating foliage for lunch

Looking like dusty red dirt

Covered in a bunch

A native species

In the point of Queensland

Threatened to extinction

It wasn’t what was planned

These wallabies are scarce

Cape York Peninsular is where they live

Less than 20,000 in their species

How can we forgive
