The wind whispered through my fronds,

Shelter would come to those below me,

When I shook I broke my bonds,

The people beneath me could be free.

The tree above was special and unique,

Its roots beautifully filling the space,

It gave me a feeling, unknown, mystique,

Like it was giving me a warm embrace.

Here, people’s troubles would flee,

Soon I saw the person beneath me leave,

Eager to further explore,

The wonder in their eyes made me believe.

I leapt further away from that special place,

Deeper into the evergreen forest,

I would never forget the trees’ loving face,

The thought I was leaving, the bitterest.

Although a feeling of home was with me,

I could be myself; I was free.
