The memory from the past

A memory from the past deep in my heart,
Like a friend that has always been living,
Although full of stuffing.
Eyes that stare into you, although only buttons.
Brown, old, ordinary, tattered, faded.
Worthless but a treasure to one.
Cared about, loved.
Sits on the bed alone waiting for me to return.
Special in so many ways,
Too hard to describe,
A gift from a special person.
A bow tied around the neck,
New covered over with fur,
Fur that is now dreadlocks.
An unforgettable friend,
That brought happiness.
No heart but full of emotion.
