The sun scorched her rays over the open paddock
the mob calling for their kin friend or foe, and the horses are dancing around sweat from head to toe
you can see where the spur has been plied to make this cowpony easy to ride
and we watch the crows fly over with an easy glide
the mob is moving on now, the horses are getting antsy
we gallop up the side no time for riding fancy
and we guide them home
for we are scared they will roam
so we bring them to a jig jog
since the sun is getting higher
and the water keeps getting lower
