The majestic koala clings to the native tree,
The morning air is so dense and foggy she can barely see.
Camouflaged in the tree, her hair so grey and furry blending in with the bark
She eats eucalyptus leaves before it gets dark.

As I continue further into the bush, looking up I spot another breathtaking koala looking so lonely.
Sitting between tall branches, swinging from side to side in the increasing warm breeze
Longing for a playmate to make her feel homely.
Yearning for some company to make her feel safe and at ease.

I stood and stared for a moment more, to my absolute delight a tiny head appeared over her shoulder, I knew she wouldn’t be alone!
The helpless baby Koala grasped intensely to her back as she was startled by the crackling sound of beckoning fire.
Devastating fires rip vigorously through the trees, unable to save them, my heart bleeds as they moan.
They climbed higher and higher in a desperate attempt to escape, but I knew it was impossible, the situation was dire.
