The Numbat

As I hobble through the sunlit bush
My white and hazel coat gleams in the sun
I pick up a scent – termites, my favourite!
I let the smell lead me
As the sun goes down I’m full of termites
I burrow down deep into the earth
Now I settle down for the night
Humans call me fluffy and cute
So why do they still endanger me?
I’m an innocent little mammal
If you can help me, do your best and I’ll try my best
Together we will stop this horrible thing
And maybe, maybe we will stop it forever
So if you can
Help me,
Save me,
Unendanger me.
