The sun scalds my back, unforgiving and relentless,

As if discontent with me. It stares me down unyielding,

As if asking me to a fight. One I can’t win.

The ocean eats away the shore, repetitive.

Like rowers going back and forth.

Sucking the sand in, then spitting it out.

The golden sand is warm, underfoot.

The slish slosh of the waves, cools my feet and mends my ears,

Calms me down.

The ocean splashes my feet perpetually,

As if beckoning me to come, Into the water,

And I give in.

The salty air stings through my nose, the icy cold water freezes me, though.

The loud sounds of the street,

My overdue assignments,

All my stress and anxiety,

Washed away, Cleaned by the sea.

The ocean comforting, like a parent,

The ocean reassures me. The ocean is a paradise

Waiting for people to discover it.
