A path that’s cracked and faded

Lost to the strength of time

Rarely ever used at all

At most I can ask is why?

Dappled with sunlight, a place

where breezes whoosh through trees

As seasons change, winter comes.

FalIing still those evergreen leaves

Around the bend you’ll find it

A simple retreat for the mind

The line between man and nature

The secret you needed to find

An easy little pathway

No exotic, ancient plants

It’s not a new discovery

But leave it I just can’t

Although it’s not rugged mountain ranges

Or reaches far like sapphire seas

It’s my little slice of paradise

And that’s enough for me
