Dragonflies guarding the memory
An intricate pattern of flowers
Resembles their relationship now
Now, it's not the same.
Although black and white
The picture screams happiness and joy
Like seeing your family after a while
A smile across his face.
Now, it's not the same.
Perched on the mantelpiece
Looked over;
Like a puppy in a pound
Begging for attention
Now, it's not the same.
The connection dissolved
The smile fading
A perpetual scar covered by a mere bandaid
Will the smile ever be back?
