Through this borderless window
I can see a thousand years back
I can see through the little doors
Almost to the meditating monks inside
I take hold of the clear, cold glass
To examine this man made masterpiece
But suddenly
A blizzard whirls from the bottom
Embracing the towering pagoda
It flows around the sphere as majestically
As a pile of fallen autumn leaves swept up by the winter breeze
Slowly the diamonds sink
Back into the depths of the emerald forest underneath
It is calm again and day resumes in the closed world
Now I can see through the little doors
To my friend
Who took this treasure across a thousand mile
And placed it in my hands
