Their small glistening eyes

And playful grin

But we can only say goodbye

Because the quokkas might not win

If we keep on chopping trees

And not thinking about these creatures

Quokkas are going to be on their knees

While we’re still on the bleachers

We need to protect our quokkas

Because extinction is mantling over our beloved animals

They are decreasing because of us
