The Red Handfish is found in the Southeast

Of Tasmania’s rocky and sandy reefs.

It’s bright reddish coloured like sun setting on the land.

An unusual creature that walks on the sand.

This odd-looking fish like a colourful sponge,

You’ll find it below in the murky sludge.

Crustaceans and wiggly worms are what it eats.

This creature really deserves this delicious treat.

Hunters of this fish are causing a threat,

Because they are selling them, just like a pet.

But the Red Handfish is sadly endangered,

So, stop polluting or else I will be angered.
