Hills bleached black,

Grey-filled sky.

Leaves lay limp in air sucked dry.

The fireman holding the red monster back,

Coming towards all the homes and safe places.

Running and screaming worried sick.

Fire destroying homes, nowhere to go.

Fire flickers, fire creeps,

Memories fly away in the wind.

Scared hopeless,

Wondering what’s left,

When will it start again when will it end.

Round and round again the fire comes,

Destroying anything that’s in its way.

Screaming shouting running,

Homes and families traumatised, ruined lives.

Crack bang the fire is coming I can hear I grab my loved ones and we run we will make it out alive.
