The Reef

The Great Barrier reef stretches far to near

this reef is different, so sincere

fish galore, countless creatures

all with their own astonishing features

some discovered, others divers are yet to explore

all amongst the ocean which isn’t the same anymore…

time is ticking before our very eyes

with us still trying to make up lies

our reef is deteriorating, plastic scattered everywhere in our vision

and here we are standing beside our broken sea, regretting our decision

Thoughts spin around our head

Marking a feeling of regretted dread

Can we rethink this, is it too distraught?

Our lesson is still yet to be taught

The Unthinkable that may never be resolved

But there is a chance if we all get involved

Our ocean’s future is slowly slipping away
