The Reflector of the Stars

She is calming in the day, with the sun shining on my face.
She is quiet in the night, when only the waves whispering to me can be heard.
I wonder if the stars jump off the night sky into the water, making tiny splashes.
She is as soothing as the rain, pitter-pattering on a tin roof.
Her sand is as soft as cotton in between my toes.
The smell of the ocean is as refreshing as a sweet glass of lemonade.
I see a bird that steals and squawks at the sight of people.
I want to run for hours on end, with sand blinding my eyes as it flicks me, grain by grain.
I ask, will you be here forever? And she says, only the future can tell my tale.
She is calming in the day, with the sun shining on my face.
She is quiet in the night, when only the waves whispering to me can be heard.
