Deep hazelnut, weather-beaten leaves fly and flitter
The elegant Robin nestling starts to twitter
He flies down with a swish and whispers to me to make a wish
My, my little bird! I exclaim, however do you speak English?
He lands gracefully on my beaten, old shoe
With a clear of the throat, he said, I guess everyday you learn something new
Listen to the leaves my dear, listen to them cry,
To humans it sounds normal, but to birds, like a sweet lullaby.
Her name is Mother Nature, she teaches us to speak,
I guess to a human, a talking bird is ever so unique!
Now this was quite strange, a talking Robin in the forest,
I assumed I was hallucinating, since this day in the year was the hottest.
With a shake of the head, on my feet lead,
Trying not to be apart of this mystery
I looked up to the natural luxurious pine trees
I tried to focus on the calming breeze
But then came the Robin once again,
If you don’t believe I’m real, you're as blind as other human men!
That’s what he exclaimed and perfectly proclaimed
Look at the forest! All beauty and leaves! Only the hated are the ones to leave!
