I see the peaceful stretch of horizon, glistening in the
sunlight, winking at me as I run across the shoreline

I feel the soft warm sand on the bottom of my toes, then
with a rushing sound I feel a burst of cold water
submerging my feet

I hear the thundering of waves hitting the shore, then
I only hear the lingering caw of the seagulls

I smell the salty scent rising from the sea

I taste the salty, slightly strange essence of the seaside

Then like a snake it slithers away
