The shell

The rouge outer,
The never ending spiral, so coral like.
A kaleidoscope of colour,
In my ear it whispers…
My little niece’s laughter, a bubbling crescendo,
The glimmer from the dull sand,
Like a lost treasure,
It called to me.
Stop the clock,
Freeze the sound,
Make the moment last forever.
